Anglet

Fine sandy beaches

A sprawling suburb off the D260 between Bayonne and Biarritz, Anglet’s saving grace is its two fine sandy beaches, Chambre d’Amour, and surfing favourite Sables d’Or. Wet suit, surf and boogie board rentals are readily available, but beware of very strong rip tides. In July and August little blue beach buses (navettes) shuttle between La Barre to the north, and Biarritz. There is a range of cheap accommodation and campsites catering for itinerant surfies.
