A noted upland resort (777 m), it slopes from a cone of rock above the Tronto ravine with a medieval fortress above and delightful flower beds and shrubberies below. A centre for excursions and walks into the Sibillini Mountains (vast panoramas from Monte Vettore, 2,378 m).
