Bonorva
Traditional crafts
A town known for mineral waters and traditional crafts, especially carpets and tapestries. Grottoes of Sant’ Andrea Priu on road to Bono (after 9 km look for signs) are man-made burial chambers known as domus de janas or ‘witches’ houses’. Solar symbols decorate the 20 tombs; a great headless bull, carved from a single block of stone, stands guard. You are in mythological country here despite Sant’ Andrea’s holy name.
