Ribbon-like waterfalls are a feature of Yosemite National Park, though they only gush at full power during spring-­time when fuelled by the melting snows of the Sierra peaks – by late summer, many are nothing more than a pathetic trickle. One of the prettiest and easi­est to reach of Yosemite’s falls is Bridalveil Falls, cascading from 600 feet and often swayed from side to side by the wind, creating a swirling spray around its base.
