Junction of Hwy-101 and Hwy-246, 31 miles South of Santa Maria. Surrounded by thoroughbred-horse farms and verdant hillsides, Buellton looks pleasant but won’t detain you for long. As you pass, however, take a look at Pea Soup Andersen’s, now a Best Western-owned hotel and restaurant, but the site of the original Pea Soup Andersen’s – a budget-priced eatery opened by a Dane and his French wife in 1924.
