A bit twee, but not too busy on a weekday out of season, this attractive hill-top village was built around a 12th-15thC castle with superb views north-west over the Morvan and east to the Côte d’Or. The village, and its historic houses, have been saved by an influx of craft workshops and galleries selling local pottery, assorted artwork, and cassis.
