Home / Australia / Key Places to Visit / Queensland: Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast / Cooloola National Park

Cooloola National Park

50-km beach

On the coast and inland between Noosa and Rainbow Beach. This has 50 km of beach (OK for 4WD) overlooked by cliffs of coloured sand. Inland, wilderness trails lead you through the woods and scrubland. The Noosa River runs through the park, forming two sizeable lakes – Cootharaba (with its Everglades) and the smaller Cooroibah. You can explore the river and lakes by canoe, or take a cruise (both from Noosa). The best entry points to the park are from Noosa and Rainbow Beach.
