Fontvieille

Pleasant detour for admirers of Daudet

A pleasant detour for admirers of 19thC writer Alphonse Daudet, author of Lettres de mon moulin, who kept his country retreat just outside the little village of Fontvieille, 10 km north-east of Arles via the D17. Follow the D33 south along an avenue of pines from the village centre and you’ll see the windmill sails up on your left. During summer a small museum opens for visitors.
