The best views in Yosemite National Park are from Glacier Point, 3,200 feet above the valley and giving magnificent views of Half Dome. Try to arrive early at the viewing point: later in the day, quiet contemplation of the stunning vistas is made difficult by the arrival of tour-bus crowds. Make a sec­ond visit to Glacier Point at night, when the valley is lit by moonlight and stars twinkle in the High Sierra sky.
