Le Pouldu
Once the home of Gauguin
There is a pretty drive south of Quimperlé, along the D49 as it cuts through the oaks and beechwoods of the Forêt de Carnoët to the little port of le Pouldu, at the mouth of the Laïta. Gauguin moved here from Pont-Aven, and there is a monument to him by the Chapelle de Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix.
