Another massive imperial fortress once glowered across the Tavoliere, but the historic quarter is gathered round the cathedral. See Palazzo Lombardi (18thC) and Palazzo de’ Nicastri, which houses the local museum. Outside the town tombs and traces of antique dwellings surround a 1stC BC amphitheatre.
