Sydney Markets

Lively street markets

Sydney has several lively street markets. The biggest attraction for tourists is The Rocks Market (www.therocks.com/things-to-do/the-rocks-markets.aspx) at the northern end of George Street, which takes place at weekends from 10 am to 5 pm. Paddington Village Bazaar (known locally as Paddo Market, www.paddingtonmarkets.com.au) takes place on Saturdays. This is the place for way-out clothes and general New Ageana.

Balmain Market (www.balmainmarket.com.au), 5 km west of town at St Mary’s Church, Darling Street, Balmain, is a gem: one of those rare markets which has things you might actually want to buy – from clothes to crafts.
