Maser
Wonderful Palladian villa
The great attraction is Villa Barbaro, joint work of Palladio the architect, Veronese the painter and Alessandro Vittoria the sculptor. Commissioned about 1560 for a Venetian nobleman, it contains vivid frescos, amazing trompe-l’oeil paintings, statuary and fine stucco work. A collection of carriages of all eras and nations is housed nearby. Still inhabited, the house has restricted opening times – see www.villadimaser.it.
