Molveno
Lakeside town with access to Paganella skiing
On Route 45bis, off Route 237 to route 421, 45 km north west of Trento and near Andalo. Sheltered by the Brenta cliffs, in a paradise of woods and meadows thick with wild fruits and flowers (you may pick only certain kinds on certain days), Molveno sits by a lake where once you could bathe all year round. The hydro board has now let in glacial streams. Ski-tows rise to the Paganella area. The hilly little town has superior hotels and offers farmhouse holidays.
