Tourist office in Avallon, Saulieu and Vézelay all offer information about the park, but the place to start is the excellent Maison du Parc, at Saint-Brisson, on the D6, 13 km west of Saulieu (www.parcdumorvan.org). Housed in a 19thC château, the centre provides information about outdoor activities, walks and budget accommodation in the 20 gîtes d’étape scattered throughout the park. Outbuildings house exhibitions and a museum of the local Resistance active during the Second World War. There is also an aboretum, herbarium and deer enclosure.
