Mount Tamborine

Walking trails, pools, views

40 km south of Brisbane near North Tamborine. This mountain has more than half a dozen parks, many of which have trails which are ideal for bushwalking. The rock formations are volcanic and much of the terrain is covered with rainforest. There are pools, waterfalls and fine views – but much of the walking is tough for the inexperienced. Check at The Tamborine Mountain Visitor Information Centre at Doughty Park for walking trails and maps or online at www.tamborinemtncc.org.au/walking-tracks-tamborine-mountain-national-park. The information centre is open from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm,.

Of more interest is Thunderbird Park, which is 4 km from North Tamborine. Here you can dig for Thunder Eggs. After all this effort you can relax by the waters of nearby Cedar Falls.
