Musee Nissim de Camondo
Lavish and authentic interior
63 ave de Monceau, 16e. An 18thC aristocratic residence created from scratch by Count Moïse de Camondo in the early 20th century. The gracious mansion is based on the Petit Trianon at Versailles, and the lavish interior decoration – Louis XVI furniture (see the photo), panelled walls, enormous crystal chandeliers and tapestries (including an exquisite series depicting La Fontaine’s fables) – is all faithfully period.
