380 km south of Sydney. Mention Narooma and oyster-lovers begin to drool. The oyster beds around here produce the supposedly aphrodisiac appetizer by the thousand. The town itself is a small fishing village with some pleasant nearby beaches; there is also canoeing on the Wagonga Inlet. There are also trips out to the wildlife reserve of Montague Island 11 km off the coast, where you can dive with the seals and be ignored by fairy penguins.
