National Maritime Museum

One of the finest naval museums

Darling Harbour; open 9.30 am to 5 pm, entry fee. As unconventional inside as it looks outside, this is one of the world’s finest naval museums. Here you get everything from early Aborigine dug-outs to the history of Bondi Beach. Outside on the quay is a destroyer and the Tu Do, which made it as far as Darwin crammed with Vietnamese boat people (www.anmm.gov.au).
