Orick
Access to Redwood National Park
Little more than a bend in the road, Orick marks the southern entrance to Redwood National Park and is the location to the Redwood Visitor Center, an essential stop for information on the park, and the maps and description of its countless foot trails.
Of several trails in the Orick area, don’t miss the aptly named Tall Trees Trail, which leads to a grove holding the tallest redwood of the lot: the 368-ft Howard Libby Redwood. It’s necessary to take the statistics at face value – from the ground the tree looks no more enormous than its neighbours.
