Petralia
Mountain town
Route 290, or Route 286, on which you approach Petralia, are wild but not really troublesome, and convey some – thing of the torments and delights of cross-country travel in olden times. Take them steadily and do not be tempted on to more strenuous byways. The Imera-Enna motorway is a boring alternative. (If you are exploring by train, note that Imera station is 65 km from Imera.)
Petralia has lower and upper towns proudly set at over 1,000 m. The latter, draped over a spur of the Madonie mountains, is an old climatic station and is now forging ahead as a base for the winter sports grounds.
