Piemont, Route de
Beautiful, savage scenery
If you want to cross Languedoc-Roussillon, but are more interested in the beautiful, sometimes savage scenery of the region than in the historic towns which my route encompasses, then consider following the Route de Piémont. It runs from Perpignan in the south to Alés or Mende in the north, taking in the Corbières mountains, the Aude gorges, the Montagne Noir, the Minervois and Espinouse hills, garrigue country, the Tarn River, the Cevennes, the Aubrac and Margaride hills.
