Possagno

Antonio Canova’s studio

Antonio Canova, the neo-classical sculptor (1757-1822), was born here. Inside the museum (www.museocanova.it) his studio is intact, with sketches, paintings and outsize models and in the temple close by, which he designed himself, is his tomb. The photo shows one of his sculptures on display in Rome.
