Roscoff
Ferry port and popular summer resort
www.roscoff-tourisme.com. A fishing centre and ferry port (services from Plymouth and Cork), Roscoff’s old stone houses, bulging window boxes and picturesque harbour contribute to its reputation as a popular if small-scale summer resort-cum hydrotherapy spa.
Rue Gambetta acts as the main drag leading to the 16thC Eglise de Notre-Dame-de-Kroaz-Baz with its flamboyant belfry sculpted with ships and bristling cannons. The principal beaches lie to the west of town; or there is the lle de Batz, a 15-minute boat trip across the bay with its fine white sand beaches, seaweed industry, lovely Jardin Georges Delaselle (Apr-Nov), small town, youth hostel and camping.
