Picturesque on granite outcrops near the Sila forests, the town keeps up old weaving traditions and is said to maintain the last silk worms in Italy (you may have better luck in finding them than we had). Graffiti on empty houses lament a declining population. The Demologic Museum in the abbey of San Giovanni covers ecology, botany and social history.
