Home / Australia / Key Places to Visit / New South Wales: the Central-Eastern (Gold) Coast / Solitary Islands

Solitary Islands

Marine park

Off the coast North of Coff’s harbour. These tiny uninhabited islands have been designated a marine park. At this point along the coast the warmer tropical currents from the north meet the cooler southern currents, making the water ideal for a wide range of fish and marine life. There are many dolphins, and during the winter you can often spot whales on their migration north from the Antarctic. Cruises to the waters around the islands run from Coff’s Harbour.
