This runs north-east from Perth city centre. Take the road north from Guildford along the west bank of the river and follow the Swan Valley Drive up to Upper Swan. This takes you through wine country, where you can taste the local product at the wineries along the route. Perhaos the best is Sandalford Winery (www.sandalford.com), which is directly on West Swan Road – friendly wine and friendly staff.
