Templeton
Antiques, wine, and a Lutheran church
Off Hwy-101, 6 miles South of Paso Robles. Swedes arriving from Minnesota founded Templeton in 1887, taking advantage of the new Southern Pacific Railroad that linked the town to San Francisco and all points east. Templeton retains its original Lutheran church and more than a small town’s share of antiques shops. More recently Templeton has become noticed for the wine it produces, which can be seen at the Paso Robles Wine Festival in May.
