Family beach resort
Tourisme-trebeurden.com. A handful of attractive beaches divided by rocky outcrops and a range of outdoor activities endear this seaside resort to families. Sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, kayaking and diving are all readily available, and the tourist office has details of bike hire, riding and tennis centres.
The headland of Le Castel divides the two main beaches, and makes a pleasant stroll with views off to Finistère and the handful of rocky islands marooned in the Baie de Lannion. Boat excursions to lle Milliau depart daily in summer, and on Sundays during the rest of the year. In addition, there are birdwatching trips to the Marais du Quellen.
Off the Corniche Breton (D788), 6 km north of town, the satellite tracking station at Pleumeur-Bodou makes a strange sight with its white tracking dishes. There are light shows here at the high-tec Musée des Télécommunications.
If you are heading south, signs off the D65 indicate Point de Bihit with its panoramic views west to Finistère.
