Will Rogers State Park
Home of the cowboy philosopher
Known as the ‘Cowboy Philosopher,’ Will Rogers first delivered his deadpan monologues on current affairs on the stage and, after moving to California in 1919 to act in Westerns, developed his homespun views, on life and politics by writing a newspaper column and several books. The humourist’s former home sits at the centre of the 187-acre Will Rogers State Park and is packed with mementoes of his life and a short film revealing – among other things – Rogers’ dexterity with a lasso.
