Posada
Charming coastal village
One of a number of pretty coastal villages above snowy ribbons of sand, backed by pine-woods along a shore not much frequented by strangers. The hinterland is clothed in cork woods, with outcrops of grotesque granite rocks. At Posada the ruined castle of Fava was built for defence against the Moorish pirates.
Two delightful little adjoining villages are La Caletta and San Teodoro, the former with a characteristic harbour, the latter locked into cliffs and tiny coves. On the horizon the isles of Molara and Tavolara resemble monsters coming from the deep to join the north Sardinia bestiary of monoliths.
